I am a registered landscape architect and urban planner retired from a
regular schedule and free to work with owners, small businesses, and
nonprofits in this endeavor I call
Evocations, which is the preparation of conceptual landscape plans and
especially formal areas such as
gardens,
memorials, social and entry courtyards, and spaces between
buildings. I am located in central North Carolina but it may be
possible to exchange enough information through the internet for me to
help a more distant committee or group. My intent is to provide
guidance in the form of conceptual plans to help with existing site
problems or areas affected by changes such as renovations and
expansions.
North Carolina projects began in 1974 with the entry courtyard for
the West Market Street United Methodist Church in downtown Greensboro,
NC while employed by John V. Townsend and Associates. I later
provided the master landscape plans for the Greensboro Historic Museum
grounds and for medical and general office projects and nonprofit
sponsored multifamily group homes and apartment complexes. Please
contact me if a need arises for somewhere to turn in the initial sketch
stages of a landscape design project, or for grounds renovations
guidance. Regards, Leslie Wagle, ASLA (336) 697-9716
(email address at bottom of page).

of small scale residential designs from my private practice; see photos
below for examples of other types of projects.
My Resume
shows a more detailed history through 2010. In the Fall of 2011 I will
be an instructor in an adult enrichment course in landscape design at
an area Community College.

The residential examples are given
because they illustrate small scale area designs. Focal area gardens
are
often added to sites that have existed for awhile, like the residences
shown, and are concerned with similar "human" scale.
Most "major"
work for office, campus, and
commercial buildings I have dealt with would be hard to read as
plans on the web (due to size reduction), but a few samples are
furnished below: |
